Kommuninvest's structure

Kommuninvest is owned by Swedish municipalities and county councils with the purpose of supporting their financial operations through secure and cost-efficient financing, financial advice, skills development and coordination. Member municipalities and county councils own Kommuninvest i Sverige AB, a credit market company, through the Kommuninvest Cooperative Society.
Business is conducted within Kommuninvest i Sverige AB
Operations are primarily conducted through Kommuninvest i Sverige AB, which has some 50 employees and an office located in Örebro. The company offers its members (that is, the members of the Kommuninvest Cooperative Society and the companies in which they are majority shareholders) financing and financial advisory services, and also provides competence development and coordination between members.

Administrative Solutions NLGFA AB is co-owned with Kommuninvest's Norwegian equivalent, Kommunalbanken. This company manages and develops the financial IT system. It has no employees and had a turnover of SEK 9 million in 2009.

Kommuninvest Fastighets AB manages the property in Örebro where the credit market company conducts its operations. It has no employees and held assets totalling SEK 34 million in 2009.

Joint and several guarantee for all of Kommuninvest's undertakings
All of the members of the Kommuninvest Cooperative Society are signatories to an explicit guarantee, in the form of a joint and several guarantee for the undertakings of Kommuninvest i Sverige AB. This guarantee arrangement means that all of the members ultimately guarantee Kommuninvest's operations.

Strong membership growth
Kommuninvest's membership has expanded over the years. More than 80 percent of Sweden's municipalities and county councils are members and we are working to include all of the country's local authorities in the cooperative by 2015.
