Swedish Benchmark Programme

Kommuninvest's Swedish Benchmark Programme has created a new asset category - liquid local government bonds - on the Swedish fixed-income market, alongside government securities and mortgage bonds. The long-term ambition is for the bond programme to become Kommuninvest's largest borrowing programme with a volume exceeding SEK 100 billion.

To maintain good liquidity in the programme, market maker agreements have been signed with the five largest commercial banks. Kommuninvest provides market makers with generous repo facilities and also offers swaps as the remaining time to maturity approaches one year. To date, bonds issued by Kommuninvest have been classified as liquidity category 2 by Riksbanken (the Swedish Central Bank).
